The missing link in Argentina's jazzhistory finally sees thelight. CorajeBuenos Aires wasrecorded in 1973, conceived as afollow-up to the historic BroncaBuenos Aires (1971).More explicitly than itspredecessor, the texts in Corajedenounced the atrocities of themilitary junta that ruled thecountry, and the album wasinevitably censored before beingreleased. The tapes, thought tohave been burnt and foreverlost, were recently discoveredin the archive of the late JorgeLópez Ruiz, allowingus to finally listen to Corajefifty years after beingrecorded. Asusual, Jorge López Ruizrecruited some of the bestmusicians around to play withhim, this time pianistSantiago Giacobbe, drummer Pocho Lapoubleand guitarist RicardoLew (all threemembers of Quinteplusat that time), as well as HugoPierre andJaime Prats on altoand tenor sax respectively. Masteredfrom the original tapes byPablo López Ruiz. Includesfoldout sheet with bilingualnotes by author JoséTcherkaski and anEnglish translation of thealbum's song texts.
