The breakthrough album from June 1980 is finally re-issued as individual LP-Vinyl and as well available again as CD! - Originally released on Mute Records, "Die Kleinen Und Die Bösen" ("The Small And The Evil") was the second album by Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft aka DAF, and it had the honour to carry the catalogue no. STUMM1, so to start the Mute Records longplay series which includes multi gold and platinum selling albums to follow. At this stage the group consisted of the four members: Chrislo Haas (Synthesizer, Tape, Saxophone), later in Liaisons Dangereuses and Crime & The City Solution, Wolfgang Spelmanns (Guitar, Synthesizer), Robert Görl (Drums, Vocals), and Gabi Delgado (Lead Vocals). The longplayer's first eight tracks were recorded at Conny's Studio, engineered by Conny Plank, and the further eleven tracks are all live recordings at The Electric Ballroom, the concert venue in London, and were later remixed at Conny's Studio with Conny Plank. The cover artwork was created by Robert Görl, Frank Fenstermacher (Der Plan) and Simone Grant, the innersleeve's typography was by Christina Schnekenburger. "Die Kleinen Und Die Bösen" gave the group great international recognition following the successful 7-Inch-single "Kebabträume / Gewalt" from march 1980 (cat# MUTE005). It had already Robert Görl's trademark drum sound and Gabi Delgado uses german and spanish lyrics. There are signature tunes like the opener "Osten Währt Am Längsten", "Co Co Pino", "Nacht Arbeit", while the live tracks are all pure electro punk.
