In sorting through the Red archive we found two Sphere tapes that we thought were blank. Instead they contained two unreleased cuts from the concert by Charlie Rouse, Kenny Barron, Buster Williams and Ben Riley at Umbria Jazz Festival back in July 1986. The “Complete” version of that record now contains seven tracks: in addition to the five previously released compositions – which are reissued here in a remastered version – we can hear half an hour of previously unheard music (“If Ever I Should Lose You” and “Trinkle, Tinkle”).
