The North London-based group Magic Carpet released their first album in 1972, bringing together elements of folk and rural psychedelia, altogether with a strong middle-eastern flavor. The music of Jim Alford, Clem Alford, Keshav Sathe and singer/guitar player Alisha Sufit still retain a fascinating charme, providing a still standing template for future global beat fusion.
