The Mannequins of Death was formed from the ashes of Swedish post-punk band Cortex. Original members from Cortex, TT Reuter and The Kingdom of Evol formed the Mannequins of Death on October 3, 2015 and made their stage debut the same day at Truckstop Alaska in Gothenburg, Sweden. This is due to the suddenly canceled and sold out reunion gig with Cortex 3 October 2015 at Film Studios I Gothenberg. After several live performances at Klubb Död/Nalen, Babel in Malmö and at the Festival Uddevallakassetten, The Mannequins of Death entered the studio in 2016 and recorded this album in Studio Anfallszonen on Pusterviksgatan in Gothenburg. Uno Wall, permanent drummer of Cortex passed away shortly after recording this album in 2016 and this was his last recording. The material was mixed in Heartwork Studio in Lund 2017-2019 and final mixed during the pandemic 2020-2021 in the Svenska Grammofonstudion in Gothenburg by Hans Olsson, Per Svensson, Gerth Svensson and Henrik Venant. Mastering: Hans Olsson, Swedish Gramophone Studio. The material contains newly written songs as well as a live recording of Liket lever's classic track "Levande Begravd" from Truckstop Alaska 2015.
