Jazz guitar legend George Benson began his career unfeasibly young, recording for RCA aged nine. After a spell with organist Jack McDuff, he went solo in the early 1960s, cutting volumes of jazz and soul before belatedly scoring hits as a lead vocalist. 'Irreplaceable' dates from 2003, when Benson had embraced the slick grooves of urban contemporary, working with Robert Bell's son Hakim, Joshua P Thompson and fellow Babyface collaborator, Joe. This gatefold sleeve reissue comes complete with three songs that appeared on certain later editions, namely 'Softly, In A Morning Sunrise,' 'Take You Out' and 'Arizona Sunrise.'
