The lyrics of “Aleli” revolve around the reality of those who lost their home , those who look back and hope the lost places will recover. <br /><br /> Luis Borda, shows an expressive versatility on his acoustic guitar and can sound alternately delicate and powerful. Georgia Veilivasaki sings with fervor and ardor. The music is up to date and full of poetry. Mixing Crete music with Argentinian Tango! <br /> The musicians on this CD come from Greece, Argentina, Germany and France. Artists without borders, in a time full of borders. <br /><br /> Born and brought up in Heraklion, Crete, with roots from the Lasithi Plateau as well as Bourla, Asia Minor. In her greater family circle there have always been “mantinadologues” (traditional Cretan song writers) and musicians, with the result that writing and music influenced her and her choices from the very beginning of her life. <br /> She writes stories, poems and lyrics, and has been recording since 1994. At the present time she has been working with the composer/director Costantine Athyrides on the rock opera Alexander the Great, both on the stage and in the recording studio, with the composer Phighi Likoudi on her own works, with the guitarist Andreas Ziakas in live perfomances and concerts, as well as with the Argentinian maestro, pioneer of Neuvo Tango in Europe, Luis Borda, with whom she is preparing a new personal recording entitled Aleli.<br /> Luis Borda was born and raised in Buenos Aires and lives in Munich. He is recognized among the most important tango composers, guitarists as well as being one of the pioneers of the Tango Nuevo in Europe. His international performances include concerts in all over the world from Buenos Aires to Singapure and from Austria to Greece and Egypt. He has experimented in new orchestration forms where traditional instruments of the East meet the guitar and the cello in original jazz and tango compositions, creating a bridge between western and eastern music. He has participated in a number of cd productions and has composed music for theatre and cinema.<br /> He is currently working on a number of projects. Most specifically, he has composed, arranged and produced the songs of the cd “Atahualpa”, a tribute to the great Argentinean poet, guitarist and singer Atahualpa Yupanqui. The whole production will be under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of Argentina and will be presented at the Paris Book Fair. He has composed the music of “La nota magica”, a fairytale musical directed by the famous Argentinean choreographer Ricki Pachkus and produced by the Secretary of Culture of Buenos Aires. Ha has recently concluded the recordings for the Tango Air in cooperation with the outstanding German cellist Jessica Kuhn. He also signs the music direction for “A Tango Plus”, a documentary film on the life of the tango dancer Maria Nieves directed by the Argentinean German Kral. Among his most notable recent projects is the cd “From Crete to Buenos Aires” in cooperation with the great Greek singer Georgia Velivasaki with the participation of extraordinary musicians from Argentina, Germany and Greece. </span></p>
