Almost two years after their first album and the subsequent release of a series of EPs and compilation contributions, 2 By Bukowski are back on the scene with their second full-length recording endeavour. 'Drink from my bastard grail' brings us a further unraveling of their personal vision, now beeing more sarcastic and allegorical than ever before. While maintaining the basic elements of their personal sound that established them, they also show evidence of a continual compositional development and maturing. Sometimes sturdy and aggressive, then again dreamy and hazy, their impact is in turn imposing and dramatic, childlike and melancholic. In an unceasing juxtaposition of contradicting emotions, they manage to create a record of constant mood shifts. 'Drink from my bastard grail' also features Amp's Karine Charff (Kranky, Space Age Recordings), who furnishes the record's first track with her voice, making it the very first 2 By Bukowski track that employs vocals!
