to 2024, the self-published tape „Hope/DR666“ (also 2024) and is now available on CD and LP for the first time.
As the title suggests, the album is split into two parts. The „Hope“ side offers more ambient, atmospheric soundscapes. The title track „Hope“ is a perfect example for this. „Birds“, on the
other hand, sounds vaguely like an unreleased song by The Glove, the legendary 1983 project of Robert Smith and Steve Severin. „Black Wednesday“ has a certain Soundtrack-feeling, with the vocals once again being mixed in such a way that they seem like an additional instrument rather than defining the track.
The „DR 666“ side is altogether more song-orientated and rhythmic. A corresponding remix of „Lola“ could even be suitable for the dancefloor. Similar to „Biergespenst“, „Do your really…“
first attracts attention with its unusual title. Musically, it is reminiscent of the synth sounds that were often used in 80s science TV programmes. Sounds far-fetched... maybe, but these are associations that can come to mind when listening to GLARING's music. Once again in the direction of Ethereal-Wave and a tip check out is „Video Gloves“ at the end.
With GLARING, Anna Nin has created her very own musical project that can be associated more with Paintings than with Pop Music. It is difficult to find any comparable act, and a small
but loyal (and growing) fan-base and audience has long since recognised this!
Transparent clear with black vinyl.
