Pôt-pot’s debut LP Warsaw 480km blends the motorik pulse of krautrock with radiant psych-rock textures, harmonium drones and male-female vocal harmonies that shimmer through layers of rough-hewn sonics. Written largely by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Mark Waldron-Hyden during a period of personal upheaval, the songs evolved from skeletal demos into full-band sessions that bristle with raw emotion and collective energy.

The album captures both the instability of the time in which it was written and the cathartic joy of collaboration. “I wrote the first batch of songs while not really living in one place,” says Waldron-Hyden. “They feel transient—developing them with the band helped me process an emotionally freewheeling period. These songs remind me equally of the difficult times that inspired them and the beautiful experience we shared creating them.”

Lead single ‘WRSW’ exemplifies this duality: a tight rhythmic core drives tremolo-laced guitars, droning harmonium and a half-spoken vocal delivery that recalls Lou Reed, with the lines between verse and chorus softly dissolving.

For fans of Lewsberg, Spacemen 3, Spiritualized, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Velvet Underground, Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, Uranium Club, Night Beats and Goat.

Cherry red vinyl.
