Produced by Gorillaz with James Ford, Samuel Egglenton, Remi Kabaka Jr. and Bizarrap, the album was recorded in London, Devon, Miami, Jaipur, Mumbai, New Delhi and Rishikesh. Featuring performances in Arabic, English, Hindi, Spanish and Yoruba, it reflects the band’s ever-expanding global outlook.

Jamie Hewlett’s artwork renders Murdoc, Noodle, Russel and 2D in a series of intricate hand-drawn illustrations, his style evolving with ever greater detail. True to its title, The Mountain places the four characters in India, immersed in the region’s rhythms and mysticism as they navigate both physical and metaphorical terrain. The result is a record that balances the familiar world of Gorillaz with new landscapes, voices and perspectives, scaling ambitious creative heights while reaffirming the group’s unique place in contemporary music.
