Originating from Rochester, NY, The Chesterfield Kings emerged in the late 1970s as pioneers of garage rock, drawing deep inspiration from the music of the 1960s, including The Rolling Stones, acoustic blues, and more. As key figures in the 1980s garage rock revival, the band released 11 albums and 15 singles, embarked on international tours, and made notable television appearances on shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. They even had a cameo as themselves in the HBO hit series The Sopranos.

After going on hiatus in 2009, The Chesterfield Kings have returned with newly recorded music and their first live performances in over 15 years. At a March 2024 concert, Steven Van Zandt introduced the band with high praise, declaring, “Back in the ’80s, when hair metal was dominating MTV and rock ’n’ roll was becoming overly polished, garage rock emerged as a fresh, raw alternative. The Chesterfield Kings are the ones who started it all.”

Now back on stage and in the studio, The Chesterfield Kings are reclaiming their legacy as legends of garage rock and igniting a new era for their timeless sound.
