Just before entering the chart with their one big British hit "Kites" Simon Dupree & The Big Sound released the album Without Reservations. The Scottish psychedelic band combining a lot of different music on the album, including their blue-eyed soul, ska and pop. Their creativeness can be found in the more experimental cuts, like "I See the Light"(originally by The Five Americans) and "Love". Without Reservations alternates between own material and covers of songs by Albert Hammond and Ben E. King.

Just before forming the progressive rock band Gentle Giant Simon Dupree & The Big Sound released the single "We Are The Moles (Part 1)/(Part 2)" under the moniker The Moles. First incorrectly labeled as an obscure output by The Beatles. After disbanding in 1969 the brothers progressed to some of the finest prog rock bands in history, called Gentle Giant.
