Captcha Records and Cardinal Fuzz are releasing a dank AF repressing of Glitter Wizards tremendous debut album, Solar Hits. If you managed to miss this the first time around, for the love of all that is unholy go sprinkle your brain with the heaviness, the sonic “yay”, that is the Glitter Wizard.

Hailing from the regions in and around San Francisco bay area, Glitter Wizard has been tickling the buttons of revivalists of the “retro-rock movement”. The band original concept was a stoner-glam band with its hybrid of influences ranging from Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer and Hawkwind. While you could locate this album as a proto-throwback to some nuggets era garage psych, it delivers so much more than their influences suggest. This heavy shit is super groovy with catchy hooks for days, while at times insinuating a foaming-at-the-mouth craze. It pushes far beyond the expectations of whatever people seem to call it.

The album clocks in around 45 minutes and doesn’t slow down one bit. The band enlisted the skronky-tenor sax of the late, great Steve Mackay. Whom, you might remember from his contributions to the epic Stooges Fun House recor

This repress is coming on a dazzling and inviting virgin pink vinyl, with full color sleeve and insert penned by ROY G BIV. Limited to 500 copies and sure to go fast.
